At MWC 2018 MediaTek has introduced a new processor Helio P60. In comparison with the predecessors, the new chip promises a performance increase of both CPU and GPU at 70%.
The processor is built on a 12-nanometer FinFET technology. Helio P60 received four ARM Cortex-A73 and ARM Cortex-A53 with a clock frequency of 2.0 GHz. As the graphics core supports ARM Mali-G72 MP3, operating at a frequency of 800 MHz.
Helio P60 brings the mobile device platform for artificial intelligence MediaTek NeuroPilot compatible with Google Android Neural Networks API (Android NNAPI) and common AI standards: TensorFlow, TF Lite, Caffe and Caffe2.
Helio P60 supports up to 8 GB of RAM and includes 4G modem. Mobile devices on the new processor will be available in the second quarter of this year.
