Google began to deploy the function of wireless connection of Android devices to Android Auto. According to the updated support page for wireless connection required:
- Staff on-Board system or multimedia system, compatible with Android Auto Wireless.
- The Google Pixel, the Pixel XL, Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, 6P Nexus, Nexus 5X with Android 8.0 or later.
- App Auto Android version 3.1 or newer.
- USB cable for initial setup.
Earlier during CES 2018 JVC Kenwood has introduced two multimedia system, compatible with wireless connection to Android Auto. In addition, the devices support Apple CarPlay, where the wireless connection works since June of 2017.
The community forum for Android users Auto Google employee said that the company is already working with Android manufacturers to establish compatibility with Android Auto Wireless.
Android Auto allows you to use some of the features of an Android device through the on-Board system of a vehicle: phone calls, navigation, music playback.
