Vivo introduced the first frameless smartphone NEX with retractable front camera module, technology bone conduction to replace the earpiece, and fingerprint scanner below the display. The smartphone is developed on the basis of the concept of Apex, presented in February at MWC 2018.
The device is available in two versions:
- NEX S with Snapdragon processor 845, 8 GB RAM, 256 GB ROM
- NEX A with Snapdragon processor 710, 6 GB RAM, 128 GB ROM
Otherwise both versions identical. NEX equipped of 6.59-inch display with Full HD resolution+, which is 91 percent of the area of the front panel. The main camera has a dual module with 12+5 MP (f/1,8+f/2.4). Resolution retractable front module is 8 MP (f/2.0).
In a housing with dimensions of 162×77×7,98 mm and weighs 199 g fit battery on 4000 mAh. Out of the box the smartphone runs on Android 8.1 with a proprietary shell Funtouch OS 4.0, which we have already met in reviews Vivo V9 and V9 Youth. Both models NEX kept to myself a 3.5 mm audio Jack.
At the end of this month, Vivo will start selling the device in China. Flagship NEX’s 8/256 GB is estimated at 4 998 yuan (~48 900 rubles), while the NEX for A 6/128 GB asked 3 898 yuan (~38 100).
