Indian holding company Reliance Industries has introduced the second generation of push-button telephone JioPhone. It works on KaiOS — extension Firefox OS from Mozilla. KaiOS Google recently invested us $ 22 million.
The phone is equipped with QWERTY-keyboard, wireless modules Bluetooth, GPS, LTE and NFC and TFT-screen diagonal of 2.4 inches and a resolution of 320×240 pixels. The underlying processor is not declared, but it is known that modules are installed on 512 MB RAM and 4 GB permanent memory. The front camera has a sensor of 0.3 megapixel main — 2 MP, and autonomy provides a battery capacity of 2200 mAh.
The cost JioPhone 2 in the Indian market will be 2 999 rupees (~2 700 rubles), and the owners of the first model will be able to upgrade by paying 501 rupee (~500 roubles). Official sales in other countries should not wait.
