Co-founder of the social network of Instagram Kevin Systrom announced his departure from the company along with her second co-founder Mike Krieger.
Mike and I are grateful for the past eight years, Instagram, and six years with the team Facebook. We have grown from 13 people to over a thousand, with offices around the world, all the while creating products used and loved by the community more than a billion users. Now we are ready for the next Chapter, — is spoken in the message SISTROM.
Systrom and Krieger founded Instagram in 2010. Kevin held the post of General Manager, while Mac was chief technology officer.
In the first two years, mobile social networking app was only available for iOS. In 2012 released an Android version of the app, and the very social network was acquired by Facebook for one billion dollars.
Systrom and Krieger did not specify the reasons why they are leaving leadership positions in the social network.
